A new trailer for David O. Russell’s American Hustle has just been released! The film stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jeremy Renner.

The trailer has just arrived online via Yahoo:

In the new American Hustle trailer, the focus is set on why people would hustle, the people being both criminals and people that are “the good guys.” Some hustle for respect, some hustle for love, some hustle for the truth, but we all hustle to survive.

In American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence plays the part of Christian Bale’s wife. In the new trailer it’s shown that their marriage is a bit rocky at best, and she calls him a “sick son of a bitch” to their son. It’s also shown that the partnership between Bale’s character and Amy Adams is one that probably is a physical one as well as a business one. Sick son of a bitch indeed.

The first trailer didn’t show too much of the actual plot, but this one delves into that territory deeper. Bale and Adams’ characters are forced to work for an FBI agent, played by Bradley Cooper, and we see that they’ll be trying to hustle him too.

The American Hustle cast is star-studded and includes Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Louis C.K., Robert De Niro, Alessandro Nivola, Elisabeth Rohm, Dawn Olivieri, Jack Huston, and Michael Pena.

As should be expected given the director, the all-star cast, the story, and the prime release date, American Hustle is likely to be a big player at the Academy Awards. It’s predicted that it’ll be a player all across the board. Notably, it has good chances of being at least nominated in Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Amy Adams), and Best Supporting Actor (Bradley Cooper). Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence also have decent odds at being nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting, respectively, though those nominations look far less likely at the current time.

Here’s the official plot summary:

A fictional film set in the alluring world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock the States, “American Hustle” tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that’s as dangerous as it is enchanting. Jeremy Renner is Carmine Polito, the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con-artists and Feds. Irving’s unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down. Like David O. Russell’s previous films, “American Hustle” defies genre, hinging on raw emotion, and life and death stakes.
