American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy took to twitter today to announce that Frances Conroy has officially joined on for the third season!

This will be Frances Conroy’s third season working on American Horror Story. In the first season she played the older version of the maid Moira O’Hara who haunted the murder house. Her character was perhaps one of the most interesting as she had both good and bad sides to her. She was murdered by Constance after being discovered with her husband having an affair. As a ghost she appeared to men as a young and sexy version (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) who tempted them to try and find their true nature. To women she appeared as the gentle and older woman (played by Conroy) who only had concern for them. In Asylum she played the angel of death, there to take people away from their misery. It’s not yet known what her character for the third season will be.

Conroy joins fellow cast mates Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Lily Rabes. It’s been teased that the third season will be lighter with a female antagonist and take place in three different cities.

Who would you like to see Conroy play in the third season?
