Last night on American Horror Story, a lot was resolved and most of the loose ends were tied up, but we never saw this coming: the show’s creators have announced that next season will be set in a different haunted house with an (almost) completely new cast.
Sorry, what was that Ryan Murphy? You’re killing everything you’ve built and completely reinventing the wheel next season? How could you do that?
NY Mag reports:
Creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk just announced in a conference call that next season will start from scratch, in a whole new scary house, with many new cast members. “Next year of the show will be a different haunting,” Murphy said. “The next season of the show will be a brand new home or building to haunt.”
The show will follow this same formula going forward, with each season starting fresh. But they might not start totally from scratch…
Murphy did say that it is possible some of the cast members will return (and that he’s in negotiations with some of them, and would love Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, or Jessica Lange to return), but if they do, they will be playing entirely different characters/monsters/ghosts, and that the Harmon story is completely done.

Unlike the season that just ended, it won’t be set in a standard one family house or in Los Angeles. (Murphy did say there is a clue in the last three episodes about the new setting.) Also, there will be a whole new, but presumably just as freaky, opening credit sequence.
A hint in last night’s episode… so they’re moving it to Florida, presumably?
We can’t picture American Horror Story without Constance, Larry, Tate and the Harmons! Can you?
