The latest season trailer for American Horror Story: Freak Show features new footage from episodes 2 and 3. There are a few wild cards thrown into the mix that set the futures of some characters into question. Watch the trailer and check out our break down the interesting tidbits!

Introducing…

Emma Roberts and Denis O’Hare play a duo of cons named Maggie Esmerelda and Stanley respectively. Both stars are slated to make their appearance in episode 3. The preview hints that Esmerelda gets in a bit over her head once murder is factored into the plan. Could Stanley be behind the glimpse of Ma Petite’s capture in a vase filled with water? From the looks of his collection in the opening of the trailer, all signs point to a resounding yes.

What we can expect:

We are not entirely sure if Frances Conroy’s prescription is 20/20 as viewers watch her picks up a hitchhiking killer clown for her son’s entertainment. While her solution to cure her son’s boredom may seem like an innocent playdate with a clown, the scene that flashes at the end of the trailer shows Twisty may be gaining more than a fan. Murphy says, “Dandy, whose catchphrase is, “I’m bored. I’m so bored,” finally finds something that does not bore him, which is Twisty. So we explore that and that plays out over several episodes… let it suffice to say that Dandy becomes Twisty’s apprentice.”

Ryan Murphy hints that by episode four we will understand Twisty’s end game. “All I’ll say about that is Twisty is not to be trusted. He’s specifically plotting something and you find out why he’s doing what he’s doing.”

Still to come are the introductions of Patti LaBelle who will play the maid, Nora, to the Mott family. Gabourey Sidibe will make an appearance later in the season after LaBelle’s character goes missing. As for Grace Gummer’s Peppermint Girl, she will return to the freak show, but the fate of her character is unknown. Murphy did offer, “What happens to her might be the scariest thing that happens all season but she was game.” Oh, boy.
