Want to know what to expect this season on American Horror Story: Freak Show? Then step right up, we have your ticket to all the details!

American Horror Story‘s latest installment, Freak Show, has been liberal with their teasers and trickle of information. With just under a month to go before the anticipated premiere, the curtain is pulled back a bit more to reveal key plot elements of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck’s circus.

Beyond the names and acts that they will perform this season, the cast’s past and current relations to Miss Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) are a mystery.

Here is a break down of all the new details for Freak Show:

Elsa Mars: The Matronly Leader

We all know that the show is set to take place in Jupiter, FL in the 1950s as the freak show allure is fading. Elsa Mars, a former German cabaret singer, strings together her band of misfits and does what is necessary to keep the show alive. Jessica Lange mentions to EW, “The thing I want to be very clear is that Elsa really loves these people. She truly cares for them in her own selfish narcissistic way. It’s not just exploitation.”

After last season’s relationship in Coven with her daughter Cordelia, that is refreshing to know. Speaking of Sarah Paulson, the conjoined twins she plays, Bette and Dot, are a hot commodity in the dying age of the stage show. Elsa will work her magic to ensure that the two butting heads make her next bill.

Second in Command:

As for the bearded lady, portrayed by Kathy Bates, she and Jessica Lange will be on the same team this year. Bates’ Ethel Darling will serve as the manager of the troupe. Prior to her arrival on the freak show scene, Ethel made her living as a performer in a circus during the ’30s. However, after the birth of her son Jimmy (Evan Peters), Ethel hit bottom, and Elsa arrives to offer her a fresh start.

Ethel may keep the law inside the tents, but the the law outside is looking for her ex-husband, Wendel del Toledo (Michael Chiklis), the world’s strongest man. He shows up with his new wife, tri-breasted Desiree Dupree (Angela Bassett). We will see Wendel and his son Jimmy struggle to be the male leader of the group. Jimmy has a certain freaky character trait of his own. Possibly missed by most in the trailer, Jimmy’s hands are deformed and resemble lobster claws.

Some Familiar Faces:

Last but not least, there are a few characters lurking on the outskirts of the previews that will make their appearance this season.

If you were a fan of the time Emma Roberts and Denis O’Hare shared on screen in Coven, then we have good news for you! Roberts and O’Hare will play a pair of con-artists this season. Meanwhile, even with the freak show struggling, there are those who wish to join. Frances Conroy will play a wealthy woman in the area whose son, played by Finn Whitrock, tries to take part in Elsa’s show.

Earlier this summer we learned that Patti LaBelle will play Gabourey Sidibe’s mother, who begins to discover some details about the clown killer. Sidibe will make her return to Jupiter upon learning of her mother’s disappearance.

Some Killer Faces:

What would Freak Show be without a few terrifying clowns on the loose? John Carroll Lynch will play a former circus clown and now murderer, Twisty, who wears a mask covering the lower portion of his face. While that may be terrifying enough to people who cannot stand clowns, Murphy promises to go one step further, saying, “He’s out to make their lives a living hell…there comes a point in the season where he takes the mask off and when you see what’s under you will faint in terror.” Great!

Another villainous character will make his debut in the two-part Halloween episode. Wes Bently will play Edward Mordrake, the man with two faces. Not your Batman-style two faces, but rather one in the front and one in the back. The face on the back of his head will “whisper evil things and force the forward-facing entity to commit horrible crimes.”

Is that enough information to let your imagination run wild for the next month?

American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres on Wednesday, October 8 at 10:00 p.m. ET on FX.
