PaleyFest concluded last night with the American Horror Story panel, featuring the creators and stars of the show. Find out all the details, including who is joining the cast here!

American Horror Story is set to return to New Orleans, not with a set of witches, but rather a troop of odd characters who will serve as the supporting cast of a Freak Show. Last night, creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck, joined by several cast members, attended the PaleyFest panel.

Here is a run down of the highlights:

Who is coming back?

Murphy confirms that parts are written for actors the team has in mind. Sometimes scheduling may mean one person misses out on a season, but many fan favorites are confirmed to return this year. They include, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Gabourey Sidibe, Jaimie Brewer, and, of course, Jessica Lange.

Who is joining the cast?

Joining the Freak Show chapter of the American Horror Story series is Michael Chiklis (Fantastic Four, The Shield). Chiklis will play father to Evan Peters and the ex-husband of Kathy Bates.

Excited by the challenges the role has in store for him, Chiklis states, “We want to do something that’s going to make us excited and walk a tightrope. In this case, it’s a freak show. It’s thrilling.”

How about that setting?

As previously reported, the show will take place in Jupiter, FL in the 1950s. However, after filming Coven in New Orleans over the past year, the cast and crew are returning to the city to create the new American Horror Story season.

Any other noteworthy tidbits?

Just a few! Murphy and Falchuck mentioned that other actors from season 1 and season 2 are still working around scheduling, but keep an eye out for a few more familiar faces to return. When a group of actors click, Murphy and company see no need to mess around.

There is still no word on whether or not Taissa Farmiga will return for season 4.
