American Horror Story news surfaces once again as Ryan Murphy reveals a few more insights into the Freak Show season 4.

More details surrounding the mysterious American Horror Story: Freak Show surface today as creator Ryan Murphy reveals a few more hints for what viewers can expect to see. Since the initial internet buzz hinting at a circus theme, clowns and ring leaders dominate the predictions for the fourth installment of the series.

Coulrophobics, beware! If you have an aversion to clowns, the upcoming season may not be for you. Speaking to EW, Murphy reveals a clown killer is on the horizon for next fall. Not just any clown killer, but “the most terrifying clown ever!”

In addition to a terrifying clown, another classic freak show character, the bearded lady, is also set to make an appearance as a member of Jessica Lange’s collection.

The comedic undertone found in the Coven installment, may carry over to Freak Show, but Murphy admits that the development is taking the show down a darker road. Much like Asylum, expect some terrifying creatures lurking behind locked doors.

Other details we already know include the show taking place in 1950s Jupiter, Florida, where viewers will find Jessica Lange, a German transplant, trying to keep her collection of freak show alive and prosperous.

Any guesses who the clown killer may be? Returning cast members include: Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Gabourey Sidibe, and Jaimie Brewer. New comer Michael Chiklis, may be the front-runner. After all, playing husband to Kathy Bates, does not cast him out of running around in full make-up in the dead of night!

American Horror Story: Freak Show will air on FX next fall. Be sure to check back for more news!
