FX has released the first promo of American Horror Story: Coven featuring members of the cast, including Jessica Lange!
The description of the video entitled “Initiation” teases:
The doors are open … dare to come inside?
This epic new promo opens up with a parade of young witches in uniform walking up to a southern style plantation house. Included in the group of young witches are Taissa Farmiga and Gabourey Sidibe.
We know from the Coven synopsis that: “Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves.” It appears that this house is the school where the girls are being sent to.
The promo also shows Evan Peters looking out of one of the house’s windows to watch the new batch of girls coming in. While Sarah Paulson, who play’s Jessica Lange’s daughter this season, opens the entrance to the house.
The young witches enter a grand room where they find Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, and Angela Bassett dressed in all black. The three women will be big powers behind this season.
In case you missed it the promo also had women who seemed to be hanging in mid air, a Minotaur like creature, and cats running in the house.
American Horror Story season 3 will star Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone, Emma Roberts, Denis O’Hare, Alexandra Breckenridge, Christine Ebersole, Danny Huston and Lily Rabe.
