Remember back in April when Eric Stonestreet said he’d love to work on the second season of American Horror Story? Well it looks like he got his wish!

Stonestreet got excited about American Horror Story: Asylum when it was exposed that the show would focus around Jessica Lange’s character, Sister Jude. He praised her saying “My gosh — in so many different ways I would love to be with Jessica Lange.” Of course, he’s also a fan of showrunner Ryan Murphy.

In the first season of American Horror Story Stonestreet played one of the psych patients being treated by Ben Harmon. He appeared in 1×06 “Piggy, Piggy” and of course was killed off by the end of the episode. This time around, Ryan Murphy revealed to TV Line that Stonestreet will be playing a killer at the asylum and he will also be sharing scenes with Sarah Paulson. Paulson’s character, Lana, is a lesbian journalist who is sent to the asylum after she threatens to expose them by her own girlfriend.

Are you excited to see the return of Stonestreet to American Horror Story? How do you think his new character will tie in with Paulson’s character?

American Horror Story: Asylum returns Oct. 17 at 10 p.m. on FX.
