American Horror Story:Asylum episode 2×13 “Madness Ends” just finished airing the second season finale. Now come discuss the conclusion with other fans here!

It sure has been a crazy season in the Asylum – literally. It seems as though almost every main character has shown a little madness at one time or another. The ambitious Sister Jude started out vicious, not wanting to let anything or anyone get in the way of her vision for Briarcliff. That included committing reporter Lana Winters into Briarcliff when she threatened to reveal Braircliff’s secrets. Jude got her own though, as she was later committed to the asylum herself and descended into madness after shock therapy treatments and medication.

Kit got framed as the serial killer Bloody Face by the man himself, Dr. Thredson. After being released from the asylum, he went on to raise his two children with Alma and Grace. The happy ending was too good to be true when Alma killed Grace. Alma found herself within the confines of the asylum as a patient, where she met her ultimate end. Even as a single father, Kit was determined to do the right thing and go back to shut Briarcliff down.

Fates became intertwined when Jude came under Kit’s custody. Her recovery was slow, but Kit’s two children seem to heal her somehow. Do you think it has to do with the children’s connection to extraterrestrial beings?

Bloody Face’s wrath at Briarcliff wasn’t just for Kit, as he pretended to befriend Lana but actually kidnapped and raped her, then only letting her survive because she carried his child. Lana got her revenge when she shot Thredson in the very house in which he held her captive. She didn’t have the heart to get an abortion and give up her son, Johnny, for adoption. But tonight she came face to face with him.

We learned that Johnny actually was on a vengeful quest to find his mother all of those years. Remember the very first episode of the series, where newlywed Adam Levine had his arm lopped off in the ruins of Briarcliff? That was Johnny’s doing, all the while listening to his mother’s groundbreaking book, Maniac on tape. Johnny was able to work his way into Lana’s later life, until finally he got the motherly attention from her that he’s always wanted.

After the success of that book, Lana went on to have a lucrative career in television reporting. Her chilling TV broadcast about Briarcliff revealed its dark and twisted secrets. Eerily, her clip sounded similar to the real-life exposé of Willowbrook Asylum by Geraldo Rivera in 1972. The show’s last scene came back in a perfect circle to the first time we ever met Lana as a gumshoe reporter and Sister Jude as a steadfast nun.

Did Jude, Kit, and Lana get the endings they deserved? What did you think of the season 2 finale?
