Yesterday, Ryan Murphy used his twitter account to announce that American Horror Story season 1 almnus Denis O’Hare will return for season 3 subtitled Coven.

So far, that’s all we know about O’Hare’s involvement in American Horror Story: Coven. Like the rest of the cast, details about his character have not been released. Nor do we know how large of a role his character will be taking the series.
In American Horror Story season 1, Murder House, O’Hare played burn victim Larry Harvey. For most of the season it was unclear whether or not his character could be classified as good or bad.
Coven will focus on a group of witches and will take place (for at least part of the season) in New Orleans. It’s also known that it will take place in modern times and will have themes of romance, much like the first season. Murphy also previously teased that season3 would be lighter with “evil glamour.”
American Horror Story season 3 will also star Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone, Emma Roberts, and Lily Rabe.
