Mayhem is coming to American Gods. At least in terms of casting. The series has found a few key players for the upcoming second season.

Three roles for the next installment of American Gods are no longer a mystery. Deadline reports the casting of three major roles for season 3 — Samantha Black Crow, Mr. Town, and the replacement for Media.

Dean Winters (Oz, Law and Order: SVU, and those Allstate Commercials) will take on an apprenticeship under Crispin Glover’s Mr. World as Mr. Town.

Mr. Town will be especially interested in uncovering what Shadow knows about Mr. Wednesday’s plans and his involvement with Samantha Black Crow.

Casting for Samantha Black Crow led the team to Devery Jacobs for the role. Jacobs will play the half-Cherokee college student who catches Shadow’s attention after she uses him for a ride.

Luckily, Media is ever-changing and thus Kahyun Kim can step into the role following Gillian Anderson’s exit. Kim will take on the role of Media, who works closely with both Mr. World and Technical Boy.

Anderson’s departure from the role came shortly after Bryan Fuller and Michael Green announced they would not be returning as showrunners for the second season.

The three characters will intersect at various points in the upcoming installment should the series follow the roadmap of Gaiman’s novel.

This announcement follows the casting of Sakina Jaffrey as Mama-Jin, the Hindu goddess of war who waitresses at the Motel America.

The series does not have an official return date, but filming is currently underway.
