Amazon’s adaptation of The Summer I Turned Pretty has found its newest star in Gavin Casalegno!

Jenny Han fans will have to head over to Amazon if they want to check out the next of her novels to get the adaptation treatment.

Earlier this year, we learned that Amazon Studios is gearing up to turn the authors The Summer I Turned Pretty book series into a television series.

Now, it’s looking like the series adaptation in question has found one of its stars.

According to Deadline, actor Gavin Casalegno has officially signed on to take on a lead role in the forthcoming Amazon Original series.

Casalegno, who some may recognize from his work on The CW’s Walker will take on the role of Jeremiah for the show. Jeremiah is described as popular, athletic, playful, and easygoing The life of the party, he’s got a penchant for flirting with everyone.

He joins Lola Tung and Christopher Briney, who have both previously signed on to star in The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Tung and Briney will play Belly and Conrad Fisher, respectively.

Based on best selling author Jenny Han’s book series of the same name, The Summer I Turned Pretty is described as a multigenerational drama.

The story centers on a love triangle between one girl and two brothers. In addition, the story also delves into the ever-evolving relationship between mothers and their children, and the enduring power of strong female friendship. It is a coming-of-age story about first love, first heartbreak, and the magic of that one perfect summer.

Han will be teaming with Gabrielle Stanton, who will also serve as co-showrunner and executive producer on the project.

Others involved behind the camera include Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Nne Ebong, and Hope Hartman, all of whom will produce.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see The Summer I Turned Pretty debut via Amazon.
