Amazon’s I Know What You Did Last Summer series finally has a premiere date.

In case you missed it, the iconic 90s slasher flick, I Know What You Did Last Summer is getting the series adaptation treatment, and now, Amazon is finally letting horror fans in on when they can expect to tune in to the show.

The streamer announced on Friday (July 23) during its virtual SDCC presentation that the upcoming horror series would officially be premiering on Halloween this year.

Described as a modern take on the 90s classic, the forthcoming series, as with the movie, is based off of author Louis Duncan’s 1973 novel of the same name.

The show will similarly follow a group of teenagers as they’re hunted by a mysterious killer who crops up one year following a fatal accident that takes place on the night of their graduation.

The series, which was first announced to be in development in October 2020, features a cast comprised of Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, Bill Heck, Sonya Balmores, and Spencer Sutherland.

Behind the scenes, the studio has tapped Preacher vet, Sarah Goodman, to serve as writer and executive producer on the series.

Meanwhile, Amazon is teaming with Sony Pictures TV to bring the series to life.

Sony’s Columbia Pictures was original studio behind the 1997 film which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr., so it makes sense that they’re also involved with the series adaptation.

The I Know What You Did Last Summer series debuts via Amazon Prime Video on October 31, 2021.
