Sony has announced that The Amazing Spider-Man will see a third and fourth film, and release dates for each are set.

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 will hit theaters June 10, 2016. The Amazing Spider-Man 4 will be released May 4, 2018.

The new films will continue the story of Peter Parker, said Sony in a press release. Jeff Blake, Chairman, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures said about today’s announcement, “Spider-Man is our most important, most successful, and most beloved franchise, so we’re thrilled that we are in a position to lock in these prime release dates over the next five years.”

In the last few weeks we’ve seen quite a few different set photos from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which gave us our first look at Spider-Man fighting The Rhino, Emma Stone and Shailene Woodley on set together, along with some other images that feature Andrew Garfield in the new Spider-Man suit.

Jamie Foxx’s character, Electro, was also revealed in some additional set photos with a very distinct look.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently filming in New York City and will hit theaters April 17, 2014. It stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson. Jamie Foxx joins the cast as Electro, and Dane DeHaan plays Harry Osbourne.

The Amazing Spider-Man is a reboot of the Spider-Man series which starred Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and James Franco.
