Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb has tweeted the first picture of Paul Giamatti as the sequel’s russian villain, The Rhino.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb continues to tweet out set photos and first looks at new characters from his next Spider-Man film starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Shailene Woodley. He recently tweeted the first look at Jamie Foxx as the film’s main villain, Electro, and then we were flooded with on set photos of Foxx in his blue makeup. Below you’ll find the tweet from Webb, along with the first official image of Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich, aka The Rhino:

This photo seems to confirm that Giamatti will be playing a Russian gangster, Aleksei Sytsevich, and while we’re unsure how and if he’ll be turning into “The Rhino,” we imagine director Marc Webb has something interesting in store for fans.

Giamatti is an incredibly diverse actor, so we look forward to seeing what he has in store for the character. We’ve brightened up the image below so fans can take a closer look at Giamatti’s interesting tattoos on his forehead, fingers, and forearm:

In the last few weeks we’ve gotten quite a few batches of set photos which gave us our first look at Emma Stone and Shailene Woodley on set together, along with some other images which feature Andrew Garfield in the new Spider-Man suit. Jamie Foxx’s character, Electro, has also showed up in some additional set photos with a very distinct look.

There was also a major spoiler possibly revealed about Emma Stone’s character, Gwen Stacy, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 due to some unofficial photos which surfaced of her wearing a very specific outfit that the character wore in the original comics.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be hitting theaters in 3D on May 2, 2014. Stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will be returning as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, and Shailene Woodley will be joining them as Mary Jane Watson, along with Jamie Foxx (Electro), Sally Fields, Paul Giamatti, and Colm Feore.
