The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Comic-Con footage went over well with audiences in Hall H, and now it’s time for the rest of the fans to get a glimpse. Watch the leaked footage that was shown at Comic-Con 2013.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 had a great presence at this year’s Comic-Con and director Marc Webb, despite just jumping into post-production, had more than a full-length trailer for Comic-Con’s lucky 6500 viewers in Hall H. Being greeted by Jamie Foxx was a wise choice, as his character Electro has been creating quite a lot of buzz.

UPDATE: We have pulled the video at the request of Sony. If you didn’t get a chance to watch the footage, we apologize, and we’ve written a detailed description of the footage which you’ll find below:

Start

The footage begins by surprising the audience with Peter Parker revealing that he’s Spider-Man. Then it quickly jumps into Paul Giamatti’s (The Rhino) car chase, where Spider-Man is attempting to catch him as he jumps from car to car.

Peter then starts talking to Aunt May, who tells him the last time he washed clothes, they turned out all red and blue. To cover up the fact that he accidently put his Spidey suit in the washer, he tells her that he washed his clothes with the American flag that time and she quickly schools him on the fact that you don’t ever wash the American flag.

The footage flips back to Spider-Man chasing Giamatti, and then switches to a scene with Jamie Foxx, where he saves Foxx’s life and then makes him feel like he knows him by calling him his first name, Foxx thinks Spider-Man knows who he is and is amazed, but Spider-Man simply looked at his Oscorp badge.

It switches back to the fight with Paul Giamatti, and Spider-Man pulls Giamatti’s pants down and takes back the Oscorp tech that he had stolen. It looks like a container of some sort, cylinder in shape.

We see a shot of Emma Stone with Jamie Foxx riding up an elevator and we can tell that Foxx’s character is very obsessed with Spider-Man and wants to be loved by the people. Aunt May quickly tells Peter that everyone hides a part of themselves.

Then we see Jamie Foxx fall into a water tank of electric eels after accidently being electrocuted at Oscorp. This is obviously where he’ll be transformed into Electro. He’s later seen walking the streets in the hoodie we’ve seen set images of.

Then we see actor Dal Dehaan talking with his father in the film, Norman Osborn. He’s obviously still very sick and in bed. Spider-Man is shown in a few battle sequences in New York, and Electro shows up and a voiceover begins where he explains that he’s going to make everyone feel how he’s felt his whole life, like a no-name that no one cared for.

Then there’s an incredible shot of Times Square where Electro is emitting electricity out of his entire body in the streets and it looks breathtaking.

The footage ends as Spider-Man saves a cop by catching a car on his back, and makes a joke about the cop “needing a hand.” Director Marc Webb is definitely showing Spider-Man’s strength.

End

We certainly think director Marc Webb is doing a fine job with his Spider-Man sequel. The footage looks very fun and light, similar to his first film, and despite some fans worrying about how Jamie Foxx’s Electro was going to look on screen, we think after that Times Square scene, we can all rest a little easier.

We see just about every new actor that’s been cast in the film, including a glimpse of Mr. Osborn, who looks very ill. But it’s also nice to just see Sally Fields as aunt May, making a joke about Peter not washing the American flag with his laundry in the future.

It’s also very interesting that we essentially see how Jamie Foxx’s character becomes Electro, which was a bit surprising. We knew he was an Oscorp employee, but there were only rumors as to how exactly he would be transformed. How do you feel about the studio revealing his villain “transformation?”

We look forward to the official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where we’ll most likely catch some of this footage in HD, and let us know what you think of the film’s Comic-Con footage.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 release date is set for May 2, 2014. Stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will be returning as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, Jamie Foxx (Electro) will also be in the film, along with Sally Fields, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, and Colm Feore.
