The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s first clip shows Spider-Man attempting to talk down a timid Electro who is scarily powerful.
The latest Amazing Spider-Man 2 featurette revealed the internal struggle that Peter will deal with due to the promise he made to Gwen’s father. In the first clip from the film we see Spider-Man attempting to prevent Electro from destroying New York City. Watch the film’s first clip below:
While there may have been some question as to who would be the main villain in the Spider-Man sequel, this first clip shows that there is no question that Electro will be the main villain. He looks incredibly powerful as he stands in the middle of Times Square.
Fans may also notice that Gwen is still in the city when Spider-Man faces off with Electro, so that could mean that she doesn’t leave for Oxford.
We got our first official look of the Green Goblin in an HD poster last week who will be the other villain Spider-Man will be dealing with and Marc Webb revealed that Paul Giamatti’s Rhino villain will only be in the film four minutes.
Spider-Man will certainly have his hands full in The Amazing Spider-Man sequel, but Electro looks to be an incredibly formidable foe from this clip.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 release date is set for May 2, 2014. Stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will be returning as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, Jamie Foxx (Electro) will also be in the film, along with Sally Fields, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, and Colm Feore.
