Alyson Hannigan is officially returning to primetime television in a new ABC series produced by none other than Kerry Washington!

According to Variety, ABC has officially picked up a brand new multi-camera comedy called Man of the House, which will star How I Met Your Mother alumn, Alyson Hannigan.

The new series is set to follow two sisters who decided to move in together and raise their kids under the same roof after both suddenly find themselves divorced.

From the sounds of the official synopsis, the oldest kid— and only son of the bunch— will serve as a series lead. The new show will find him trying to “figure out what manhood means in a world where he’s now completely surrounded by females.”

Hannigan will play one of the sisters named Jessie who is described as a caring social worker. After her husband leaves her, she’s left to juggle single parenting with two kids of her own: a football star teenage son, and a pre-teen daughter.

Meanwhile, Jessie’s sister, Charli seems like she’ll be her polar opposite. described as “narcissistic” and “ball-busting,” Charli will bring a daughter into the mix when the sisters end up moving in together.

There’s no word yet on who else will be joining Hannigan in the new pilot, but she’ll be getting some help behind the scenes from a fellow actress who’s no stranger to ABC’s lineup.

Scandal star Kerry Washington will officially be serving as executive producer on the series along with Gail Berman and Joe Earley.
