If you haven’t been watching Alone Together, a freshman comedy series on Freeform from creators Benji Aflalo and Esther Povitsky, what are you waiting for? The series centers on friends Benji and Esther played by none other than the series’ creators.
The “just-friends” duo are lost in life, love, and just about everything. But at least they have each other. Better off together than alone!

In a clip from this week’s episode, “The Big One,” Esther, literally, runs to Benji with yet another problem for him to help her sort through. Only this time, it seems that widespread panic might be in order.

Did you really think Esther was hiding anything of significance from Benji? Come on, now! FM radio aside, getting swept up in weather-related news is no joke. (Do we have to bring up the recent Bomb Cyclone news cycle? Do we?)
Esther is, in this moment, anyone who has experienced unnatural weather in their region. We glue ourselves to radios and televisions. Exchange, “Can you believe it? I heard it’s going to shut down the city” gossip. And fight other shoppers for the last loaf of bread (because even though we never eat sandwiches we may want one before it’s too late!)

‘The Big One’ synopsis
When Esther freaks out about “the Big One,” Benji dismisses her Midwestern panic. Benji’s sister later arrives with her friends, one of whom is also freaked out about the potential earthquake. Benji tries to take advantage of her fragile state and puts the moves on her. As Esther tries to entertain the group with activities, Benji is eventually sucked into her earthquake apocalypse freak out.
