Alicia Vikander’s next big screen role could find her playing one of the world’s most iconic feminists.

According to Deadline, Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander is currently in negotiations to portray feminist activist Gloria Steinem in the upcoming biopic, My Life on the Road.

Vikander would reportedly be playing a younger Steinem, portraying the iconic feminist during her formative years from the ages of about 20 to 40 years old.

Vikander, who took home the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her work in The Danish Girl, joins previously announced cast member and fellow Oscar winner Julianne Moore.

Moore, who was last seen in this year’s Bel Canto, will also be portraying Steinem. Her role will involve showcasing how Steinem grows into her own to become “a galvanizing symbol for equality.”

The upcoming film is based off of Steinem’s memoir of the same name, which was published back in 2016. The book offers a firsthand account of her life as a traveler and how the encounters she had while traveling and listening to the people she met along the way helped shape her.

Vikander and Moore aren’t the only actresses set to portray the activist. In addition, the film is looking to recruit two more actresses to portray Steinem in her younger years, although no casting announcements have been made with regards to who will take on those roles.

The upcoming biopic is set to be directed by Julie Taymor, who will also be co-writing the script alongside The New World playwright Sarah Ruhl. Taymor, Ruhl and Steinem herself will also serve as executive producers on the project along with Amy Richards.

There’s currently no word on when My Life on the Road will hit the big screen, but production on the film is currently set to start sometime next year.
