Alden Ehrenreich has officially lined up his next project.

According to Deadline, actor Alden Ehrenreich has signed on to star in the upcoming television adaptation of Brave New World.

Ehrenreich’s involvement in the project marks the big screen star’s first foray into leading the cast of a television series.

The forthcoming series is based off of Aldous Huxley’s classic 1932 dystopian novel of the same name. The book takes place in the city of New London — a society that has achieved peace and stability, but at the cost of prohibiting monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history.

New London’s way of life finds itself disrupted after John, a member of the outside world, arrives.

Ehrenreich, who was last seen portraying the titular character in Solo: A Star Wars Story, will be playing John in the upcoming adaptation written for the small screen by David Weiner, Grant Morrison, and Brian Taylor.

In addition to his co-writing duties, Weiner will also serve as the series’ showrunner. Finally, Owen Harris has been tapped to direct the first episode of the series, and serve as executive producer along with Weiner, Morrison, and Amblin TV’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.

The series was originally developed over at Syfy and was then given a straight-to-series order by USA Network.

Brave New World is rumored to premiere sometime in 2020 via NBCU’s upcoming streaming platform.
