Aiden was stranger at the beginning of the season, but with each episode we’ve gotten to know him better. In Sunday’s episode, we dug deeper into Aiden’s story and his connection with Emily. So where is this relationship going?

We learned that Aiden and Emily were romantically involved in the past, and it turns out that Aiden left Emily in order to search for his sister. She was hurt, and it appears that they hadn’t seen each other in a while, since they were reunited at Takeda’s “Revenge School.”

It still seems like Emily hasn’t forgiven him yet for leaving her and for breaking her heart.

Aiden’s quest is to get back into Emily’s good graces, but she’s not making it easy for him. Barry Sloane tells Access Hollywood:

“He’s tried to be the knight in shining armor twice now and the first time he got a knife to his throat. He’s taking care of business for her, he’s looking out for her, so hopefully, eventually, she’ll thank him.”

He’s keeping an eye on her, which at first he was doing secretly, but now Emily knows it. She’s trying to keep him away, but he’s refusing to back up. We wonder if there will be an eventual partnership or lovers’ reunion between the two of them.

Aiden and Emily are so similar, it’s no wonder they butt heads like they do. However, there is also so much potential for a relationship there. Sloane reveals that Aiden and Emily will be working together in future episodes this season.

“She likes to work alone, and so does he and I think that’s what’s quite fun about the upcoming few episodes and the fact that they’re kind of working together, but they’re not used to having a partner. It’s interesting.”

We are absolutely looking forward to seeing this relationship blossom, in whatever way the Revenge showrunners plan to take it. Emily needs a fresh face (for us) instead of rehashing romances with Daniel and/or Jack. Apparently they’re both still pining for her.

What do you think of Aiden’s bigger role on ‘Revenge’?
