Little is known about AHS‘s sixth installment, but we now know in which time period the series will take place. Who would you like to see return?

AHS‘s sixth season confirmation came well before Hotel‘s premiere, but not much else about the season was known. At today’s FX presentation at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, John Landgraf confirmed that the series will take place in the present with “echoes of the past.”

The structure would be similar to the way that this season’s AHS: Hotel unfolded with the focus being on the Hotel Cortez in 2015 with flashbacks to the reveal backstories of each character. However, the theme will likely reveal whether or not the the series will incorporate spirits from the past into the present storyline like Hotel and Murder House chose to do.

So who will return for season six? No one is confirmed to return to the series as of right now, but Lady Gaga’s recent Golden Globe award and Ryan Murphy’s gushing praise of the actress’ work in Hotel favor a second season-long role.

Gaga may have the hardware, but Denis O’Hare deserves the same, if not more, praise for his work in AHS: Hotel. His portrayal of Liz Taylor brought a truth to the role that, though talented, many of Murphy’s previous cast members have yet to show on screen. This is not O’Hare’s first incredible season on the series either. Murder House‘s Stanley, Coven‘s Spalding, and Freak Show‘s Larry Harvey each gave the AHS series unforgettable scenes.

Our ideal cast list would also include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, John Carol Lynch, and Wes Bentley who gave an incredible, if not limited, performance of Detective John Lowe in AHS: Hotel this season.

Did we forget anyone? Oh, Jessica Lange can stop by for a bit if the role is right. AHS: Hotel certainly showed the world that the stories can keep on spinning without their leading lady. But do they have to?

AHS will return to FX fall 2016.
