Casting news for AHS: Hotel is getting a bit our of hand! Welcome, Naomi Campbell to the growing list!

Update (July 23): Naomi Campbell is coming to visit the AHS: Hotel and she is not leaving until she stirs up some trouble with Lady Gaga. TV Line reports that supermodel Campbell will play a “fashion editor who pays the ultimate price for her critiques.” She will appear in multiple episodes and interact with Angela Bassett’s character as well.

We already know that Lady Gaga’s role will have something to do with fashion and that she is giving the costume department a run for their creativity.

Update (July 22): AHS: Hotel adds another villain to its ranks for its fifth installment with the addition of Lily Rabe. EW broke the news that Rabe will return to the series this season as a serial killer who checks into the Hotel.

Rabe has previously played Sister Mary Eunice in both Asylum and Freak Show. She played Nora Montgomery in Murder House and the shawl-spinning Misty Day in Coven.

Update (June 25): Ryan Murphy is keeping Emma Roberts busy for the moment over on the Scream Queens set, but he confirms that actress will find her way back to AHS this season. Speaking to Zap2it Murphy says, “She’s still going to do a couple episodes of Horror Story at the end, I think. She comes at the end. She comes and she has a great thing with Evan Peters at the end.”

Did he mention she comes in at the end? The details of her story are still a little hazy for the creator at the moment, but hopefully her appearance will be worth the wait!

Update (June 19): In an interview with Deadline, Ryan Murphy confirmed that Dennis O’Hare will return for his fourth appearance in the AHS anthology. Murphy also hinted that the cast and crew will begin shooting in just under three weeks! But never rule out more casting news. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka were late additions to Freak Show!

Update (June 17): Arguably Freak Show‘s greatest breakout performer, Finn Wittrock will join the already star studded guest list for AHS‘s fifth installment Hotel. Ryan Murphy announced the casting on Twitter hinting that Lady Gaga will have a choice to make between two of the leading men, Wittrock and Matt Bomer. Will her choice be for love or murder? You decide!

Update (May 25): Not even a national holiday can stop Murphy from announcing more AHS: Hotel cast members. The creator has revealed that New Girl alum Max Greenfield has joined the show and describes his role as one “like you’ve never seen him.” He’s “checking in to the hotel… but not checking out,” Murphy teased.

Update (April 30): Another week, another cast announcement. Murphy has confirmed AHS alum Angela Bassett will be joining Hotel. Her role appears to be closely tied with Lady Gaga’s character.

Update (April 24): Murphy has now announced that American Horror Story alum Evan Peters is joining the show as a resident of the “Hotel’s” Room 64:

Peter is also in Murphy’s upcoming Fox horror comedy Scream Queens which premieres later this year.

Other recently announced cast members, besides the two ladies below, include Matt Bomer and Wes Bentley.

Update (April 13): Sarah Paulson will join Kathy Bates and the rest of the Hotel cast for her fifth season of AHS. Paulson’s previous roles in the series have been extraordinary. After playing two devious, yet wholesome heads sharing the same body, Paulson will play “the baddest bad girl of them all.”

Original Story (April 8): With Scream Queens well underway in New Orleans, Ryan Murphy took a minute today to confirm that Kathy Bates will return for her third role on AHS: Hotel, playing the lady in charge of this season’s namesake.

The actress later celebrated the casting on her own Twitter account:

Bates has Ryan Murphy to thank for rejuvenating her career. Bates has said, “It is such a unique situation to be in as an actor. There is a new character each year and Ryan really appreciates the older actress. As I said earlier, it rejuvenated my career, put us back in front of the public at our best.” Bates has previously played Madame Delphine LaLaurie in AHS: Coven and the bearded lady Ethel Darling in AHS: Freak Show. With two powerhouse roles under her belt seeing her in another position of power is an exciting prospect!

Other stars already signed on to the project for season 5 include Lady Gaga, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, Matt Bomer, and Cheyenne Jackson.

Bates will be running the hotel with one noticeable absence. She’ll have to go on into the AHS: Hotel without her great friend and co-star Jessica Lange. Lange announced earlier this year that she will not be returning for a fifth season of the series.

Not much is known about the setting, the time period, or which other veterans will be making their return to the AHS family for season 5. However, FX has confirmed that filming for the series will leave the summer heat of Louisiana and will return to Los Angeles.

AHS: Hotel will air October 2015 on FX.
