Plenty of details came out of today’s AHS: Hotel panel at the Television Critics Association press tour. Find out who’s playing who!

Once you check in, you’ll be dying to get out. At least that is the vibe that executive producer Brad Falchuk hinted at when he described the latest installment of AHS this afternoon. Some romantic relationships were also hinted at today, including one between Angela Bassett and Lady Gaga. But Bassett is not the only one caught in Gaga’s romantic web.

Similar to Murder House and Asylum, Hotel will create a feeling of being “trapped.” But it will not be as claustrophobic. Falchuck elaborates, “It’s a little more open. I feel like the first season intentionally trapped you in that house in a very specific way. This season, the horror is sneaking out of the hotel. The hotel is the center, but it’s kind of dripping out. It’s much more noir-y and moody in that way.”

A new poster revealed today on the AHS Twitter account takes a peek at what is going on behind some of the hotel doors. Check it out here.

The cast became a little more developed as the stars in attendance offered a bit more information about their characters’ involvement. Read on for all the details.

Finn Wittrock is Tristan Duffy:

A male model “who’s always looking for the next high. He finds the biggest high in Lady Gaga. We have a lot to do together. She sees all of me.”

Cheyenne Jackson is Will Drake:

“A fashion icon. He’s trying to creatively reestablish himself, so he moves from New York to Los Angeles. [He’s a] father and a little desperate.”

Denis O’Hare is Liz Taylor:

You read that correctly! Liz. Taylor. O’Hare says, “I’m not actually playing Elizabeth Taylor, but I’m playing a person who is inspired by the awesomeness of things like Butterfield 8 and Cleopatra. I shaved my head for the part… and other body parts. I work in the Hotel with Kathy [Bates], and I work in the bar, which is fantastic — the Blue Parrot Lounge.” This may very well be the role we are most excited to see.

Chloe Sevigny is Alex Lowell

“The wife of Wes Bentley. A mother and a doctor, and I’m dealing with a great loss that we had in our family.”

Wes Bentley is Detective John Lowell:

“[Chloe Sevigny and I] had a great loss in the family. I’m investigating some grisly murders, which somehow leads me to checking into the hotel.”

Matt Bomer is Donovan:

“A denizen of the Hotel. I’m closely associated with Ms. Gaga and Ms. Bates and Mr. Wittrock, amongst others. He has very interesting relationships with the ladyfolk in his life. I’ll leave it at that.” How very formal, Mr. Bomer.

Angela Bassett is Ramona Royale:

“I have a very strong, real, lasting relationship with [Lady Gaga] character, so I’m sure I’ll be at odds with [Finn Wittrock] down there. My character is this fabulous actress of the day. I don’t live at the hotel, but I visit very often.” We’re going to need a teaser of this role ASAP!

Kathy Bates is Iris:

“I run the hotel, I have relationships with Matt Bomer and with Wes, and I can’t stand [Sarah’s character]. I hate [Sarah]. Liz Taylor and I have a very close relationship, and I do crossword puzzles in my spare time.”

Sarah Paulson is Hypodermic Sally:

“I live at the Hotel. I have a kind of budding something with Wes’ character that’s sort of dark.”

Lady Gaga is Elizabeth:

Last, but certainly not least, is Lady Gaga, whose role was confirmed by Ryan Murphy. He had this to say, “She owns the hotel. She is a very wealthy social doyenne, who is consumed with art and fashion and people. She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode, but plays out over the course of the season.”

Wow. That is a lot to process, and imagine that this is less than half of the people we will be meeting this season at the Hotel.

AHS: Hotel episode 1, “Checking In,” returns Wednesday, October 3 at 10:00 p.m. ET on FX.

Who are you looking forward to meeting most at the ‘AHS: Hotel?’
