If there is one thing Neil Patrick Harris loves, it is a good magic trick. But how will his trickery play out on AHS: Freak Show? Check out the images here!

The final three episodes of AHS: Freak Show will get the Neil Patrick Harris song and dance treatment, but it will not be the Oscar hosting golden boy you are comfortable with. An exchange on Twitter prompted the inclusion of Neil Patrick Harris for the fourth installment of AHS. However, Ryan Murphy admittedly wanted Harris and his husband, David Burtka, from the start of the series. Their roles went to Zachary Quinto and Teddy Sears in Murder House.

But finally, Harris and Burtka will appear at the end of the current installment, Freak Show. Harris makes his debut when the show returns on January 7 with the episode, “Magical Thinking.” He will play Chester, the new owner and master illusionist of Elsa’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

Synopsis: “Elsa prepares for her move to Hollywood. The Twins grow enamored with a traveling salesman. Dell plots Jimmy’s escape from police custody.”

Charming and skilled in the art of distraction, Chester’s character does not exactly keep his hands clean. As the trailer for this week suggests, where Dandy failed to cut someone in half, Chester will succeed. (With the aid of his ventriloquist dummy?) But Chester’s success in another area which Dandy failed, the seduction of the Tattler sisters, is enough to send Dandy back into emotional turmoil. Granted, it does not take much to do that!

Meanwhile, viewers can also expect to return to Jimmy’s story as he is held in prison faced with the decision to cut off his hands to secure his freedom. But was the scene at the close of the winter finale true? Did Desiree and Maggie actually visit the museum and see Jimmy’s hands on display or is there still time for Dell to bust his son out of prison before Stanley gets a hold of his prize?

AHS: Freak Show returns with episode 11, “Magical Thinking,” Wednesday, January 7 at 10:00 p.m. ET on FX.
