Tonight’s AHS: Freak Show episode 6, “Bullseye,” shows just how deep commitment runs in the troupe. Read the full recap here!

What do you do when your love is not the type of love that can be satisfied without a few large sacrifices? On tonight’s AHS: Freak Show episode 6, “Bullseye.” Dandy and Elsa both test the commitment of the freaks to their generous actions.

Big wheel keep on turnin’ Happy Birthday, Elsa! It is Miss Mars’ birthday week and the camp is preparing to honor their matronly figure with gifts, and cake, and perfumes suitable for a Hollywood star! But there is a damper on the celebrations when the twins are on everyone’s mind.

One person that Elsa seems to have on her team, despite the melancholy feelings, is Paul. However, Paul is a means to an end for Elsa, a way to give into her own freakish side. But her relationship with Paul, underneath it all, does mean a bit more to her than the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Her bedside manner needs a bit of work as she suggests that Paul be her chauffeur in Hollywood once she finds a “normal” suitor.

Elsa’s love of her family exists, but only to the end that they give her something greater than the normal world is willing to offer. Luckily for Paul, his affections extend beyond the tent and into the bedroom of the candy stripper, Penny.

Fantasy Girls: Bette is a material girl, and soaking in the material world of chez Mott. Dandy is bending over backwards to give the twins whatever their hearts desire. As Bette tells her diary, all those warnings of men seem moot in Dandy’s presence. Dandy’s intention is to wed the Tattler sisters, despite Gloria’s protest. When he is around them, feelings of normalcy begin to consume him.

Bette may have stars in her eyes, but Dot sits waiting for the darkness to creep over their fantasy life. But a story of the Brodie conjoined twins who were successfully separated begins to turn the wheels in Dot’s mind as thoughts of finally running into Jimmy free of her sister consume her. With Dandy’s money, that dream may be closer to a reality, but first she must walk to line of Dandy’s mood swings.

In a game of “I’ll tell if you tell,” Dandy tries to convince the twins that he was the one responsible for killing the clown. If Dot did not have Bette attached to her, you can bet she would have beat America’s body to the ground defending her crush on Jimmy. But Bette is there, reigning Dot in and considers the truth to Dandy’s tale.

Suitors: Paul and Dandy bump into one another shopping for their ladies at the local pharmacy. Neither are satisfied with the service, but Paul gets the short end of the service stick when he notices that Dandy is buying two of every item from the woman’s section.

Back under the big tent, Paul tells Jimmy of his suspicions, planting the seeds of distrust. Regardless of what the entire camp may think of the woman who plucked them from their worst, Elsa is, at heart, a woman with a dream and no remorse for what needs to be done to obtain it.

Payday: Stanley becomes impatient when the goods from the freak show are not turning up fast enough. But dragging bodies to a barn to cut off hands or store them in jars is no easy process. With the twins gone, Stanley needs to cash in on some smaller payouts. Maggie assures him that she can swing getting Ma Petite preserved in a jar.

Elsa preps for her big trip to Hollywood by crooning the tune of “September Song” by Frank Sinatra. Paul is around, but only to put Elsa to bed with nothing more than a kiss. His suspicions of the twins’ disappearance send Elsa into a raging spiral. After all shouldn’t the troupe be bowing to her for her “sacrifice” to bring the family more than they currently have?

The ungrateful group gathers to hear her tirade and take it in not unlike a children cringing at the words of their parent. But Paul is the one to step up and allow Elsa to take a physical shot at him with a knife. He has but one request, “Try not to miss.” She does not.

When Ma Petite is too adorable for Maggie to kill, Stanley decides that he needs to be a bit tougher with his partner. Since her body is not worth half as much, she must now offer him Jimmy’s hands on a silver platter.

Dandy betrays Dot’s only privacy by reading her diary. Discovering that she merely saw him as a ticket to freedom and planned to chop Bette away, Dandy slips back into the calmness that does more to unsettle than his tantrums ever will. The girls brought him sustenance in the dryness of his soul, but now that emptiness gives him a clearer look at his destiny; bring death to Jupiter. Jimmy arrive at the Mott residence, shortly after this revelation, looking for answers to his burning suspicion.

Elsa and Ethel enjoy a quiet slice of cake, but even sisterly love has its limits for Ethel’s deep gratitude. If anything Elsa says to her turns out to be false, she will waste no time turning her back on everything the woman has done for her.
