Actor Ben Woolf, who played Meep on this season of AHS: Freak Show, has passed away following an accident late last week.

Due to complications from a head injury, actor Ben Woolf has passed away. He was 34 years old. The injury was sustained after a car mirror struck Woolf while he crossed a street in Hollywood last week.

Woolf is familiar to most as Meep, the lovable performer with the blue fur coat from AHS: Freak Show>. But his first appearance on AHS goes way back to season 1 as the character Infantata, the deceased child that Dr. Charles Montgomery attempted to sew back together.

In addition to the American Horror Story series, Woolf appeared in Dead Kansas and Haunting Charles Manson. When he was not acting, Woolf was a preschool teacher in Los Angeles.

Woolf’s family released an official statement of thanks and gratitude that reads, “We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all over the world for our beloved Ben. He touched so many hearts in his 34 years. His memory will live on within each of us and within his work.

After Meep’s departure from the camp, his spirit became a huge driving force on this season of AHS: Freak Show. The actor’s own spirit comes off in a very similar way. Speaking in the behind-the-scenes documentary video for AHS’s Extra Ordinary Artists series, Woolf says, “When I play Meep, I like people just to feel happy and realize that although he doesn’t say a lot, that he’s saying a lot in that one word that he says.”
