The episode preview and a clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4, “Eye Spy” all suggest an action-packed episode tomorrow night.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4 will air tomorrow night on ABC, and the promotional material for the episode all promise to set a new bar in the young show’s dramatic stakes. The episode, titled “Eye Spy,” will put Agent Coulson’s new team in contact with a ruthless operative whose skills will challenge every member of the crew – and whose secrets might just devastate them.

The official episode summary for “Eye Spy” says:

Agent Coulson and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team try to track down a mysterious woman who has single-handedly committed numerous high-stakes heists. But when the woman’s identity is revealed, a troubling secret stands to ruin Coulson.

Pascale Armand will guest star as Akela Amador, the thief in question.

And judging by this preview for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4, it looks like Amador’s skills seem to extend far beyond just thievery.

It’s clear that Akela Amador definitely isn’t pulling her punches when it comes to taking out Agent Coulson’s team. (Fitz-Simmons will be okay in that van… right?) What isn’t as clear is exactly what is driving Amador, and why she is going after Coulson – and who the heck those guys in the creepy red masks are.

A sneak peek from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4, “Eye Spy,” sheds a little bit more light on just how formidable an opponent Amador will be… and, if we needed any more assurance, just how insanely amazing Melinda May is.

In the clip, Agent May shows up in Amador’s hotel room and tries to take her in to S.H.I.E.L.D. for a fair trial – so “no one else gets hurt.” (If Fitz-Simmons got hurt, we might lose it.) Amador is being monitored, however, and has apparently been programmed to kill any agent she comes in contact with. The two begin to fight, and thankfully, it looks like Melinda can handle the rogue-thief-robot-agent-lady – at least for now.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4, “Eye Spy,” will air tomorrow night at 8 p.m. on ABC.
