Agent May has news for Coulson in our first clip from the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 premiere.
The sneak peak from the premiere, titled “The Ghost” (more on that in a minute), features the return of Mack and Coulson to the Playground. The new partners have been away from the base for an extended stretch, clearly having their noses pressed to the grindstone by new protocols.
But as May makes clear, protocols be damned. She has important news to deliver that can’t be sent “over the wire.”
Secretly, May informs Mack and Agent Coulson (how weird does that sound?) that Daisy may have been spotted in Los Angeles. Though the new Director refuses to allow the pair anywhere near Daisy, who Mack describes as “a ghost,” May won’t let some newbie dictate what she thinks is right.
“The world,” she says, knows Daisy only as Quake — and that’s really, really bad.
As Coulson and Mack quickly realize, if the violent fugitive Daisy is linked to the gruesome murders in L.A., her life will be forfeit. In spite of the new Director’s orders, May gives Coulson and Mack a head start, so that the pair can find their wayward friend before, as Mack says, “the military does something bad.”
“Or Daisy does something worse,” May adds grimly.
Another new promo from ABC for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 premiere suggests that Daisy is certainly up to something. But where that falls on the spectrum of good, bad, and worse remains to be seen.
“She’s ready to take on vengeance,” the promo rumbles, which is hardly our first indication that Daisy will be going up against Robbie Reyes and Ghost Rider. But even though our girl is armed with her tack suit and Quake powers, is she ready to do battle with a burning skull from Hell?
