Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4, “Eye Spy” airs tonight on ABC. Here’s everything you need to know about this week’s adventures in espionage!

Continuing on the theme from last week’s “origin story” episode, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4 will introduce another character with a complicated backstory. The episode, titled “Eye Spy,” will focus on the hunt for a talented and dangerous woman named Akela Amador (Pascale Armand) who has links to Agent Coulson’s past.

A recent sneak peek demonstrated just how formidable Amador can be – though hopefully she will meet her match in Melinda May.

In last week’s episode, Coulson’s team escaped certain death when Coulson sent Dr. Franklin Hall into the unstable mess of his own discovered element, gravitonium. As a result of the adventure, Skye (apparently) dedicated herself fully to the team, and Agent May decided to accept combat duty after being stuck in the bus when the danger struck.

We also learned that Coulson is having issues with his muscle-memory, Agent Ward had a bad big brother, and there may not be any such thing as truth serum.

It’s anyone’s guess whether the truth serum will reappear in “Eye Spy,” though we have heard rumors about Agent Fitz’s monkey. (Not an innuendo.) In any case, the official summary for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4 says:

Agent Coulson and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team try to track down a mysterious woman who has single-handedly committed numerous high-stakes heists. But when the woman’s identity is revealed, a troubling secret stands to ruin Coulson.

Check out a few images from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4, which show Akela Amador, FitzSimmons in a van, and Melinda May looking like a goddess.

Finally, the preview for this week’s episode shows us just how high the stakes will be tonight.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 4, “Eye Spy” airs tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC.
