The crowds at San Diego Comic-Con were happier than ever crowded into Ballroom 20 for the S.H.I.E.L.D. panel this afternoon, and once the team hit the stage, we could see why.

As if a chance to see Joss Whedon wasn’t enough, we also got a quick look at what they have in store for us for the debut season with a screening of the pilot episode!

After walking onto the stage and introducing himself, Jeph Loeb revealed his “Coulson Lives!” shirt to tumultuous applause, and then proceeded to introduce the main cast as well as Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, finishing with Joss Whedon himself.

The most dramatic news was not that we would be getting a clip or trailer, but that the crowd in the room would be treated to the entire pilot episode. Stay tuned to Hypable for our recap of the pilot and our thoughts on how we think the show may fair in its first season.

Following the episode, we got a short question and answer session with the panelists: Joss Whedon, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Iain Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Chloe Bennet, and Clark Gregg.

When Clark Gregg was asked by Jeph Loeb, “What’s it like putting on the suit again?” He responded with a very eloquent, “I didn’t like being dead.” He went on to say, “I can’t believe this is happening to me.” He truly believed that Agent Coulson was gone after his death in The Avengers, but was moved by the fan response, particularly the “#CoulsonLives” that spread far and wide after The Avengers premiered.

He also shared that they started shooting episode 2 three days prior to the panel.

Chloe also shared that she went in six times before she landed the part of Skye in Agents of SHIELD, and that when she got the great news, she cried.

The overall theme that could be gained from the very short Q and A was that this cast feels very blessed to be afforded the opportunity to play these characters, and that they are very excited to share this adventure with the fans.

While we don’t have any new trailers or clips to show you, check out this previously released trailer, in which we get to see the new agents and all the crazy mischief they will be up to in the first season of Agents of Shield.

What part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. information we got today has you most excited?
