Daisy unites the Secret Warriors on their first and most dangerous mission in this exclusive clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 3×17.
The episode, fittingly titled “The Team,” marks the first official adventure of the highly-anticipated Secret Warriors. With Team S.H.I.E.L.D. captured by Hydra, Daisy, Lincoln, Joey, and Elena must exercise their Inhuman powers to save their human friends from Hive’s hideous attentions.
But as our exclusive clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 3×17 demonstrates, having superpowers and uniting under a badass team name doesn’t mean that infiltrating a secret base will be easy.
In the clip, Daisy and the team prepare for their challenging and incredibly risky assault. The circumstances are dire, their options are limited, and the new heroes’ confidence is fragile; Joey and Elena still seem understandably starry-eyed. But fortunately, Daisy is ready to give the newbies a boost before the party — and the danger — really starts.
Leadership has been a tricky subject for Daisy so far this season. Her conviction in using her powers for good (and helping others do the same) is unshakable, but that has also led her to a certain degree of dogmatic thinking. While admittedly thin on the planning stage (nobody expects a Hydra occupation!) Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 3×17 seems to show Daisy stepping up to both inspire and save the people she cares about.
“For one reason or another, each of us has been given a gift,” she tells her team, before leaping from the plane like she was born with wings. “Let’s put them to good use.”
And we certainly hope everyone will put their powers to good use — especially Joey and Elena, who are Actual Precious Cinnamon Rolls. But this is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so we shouldn’t get too comfortable. The promo for “The Team” suggests that one of our ostensibly well-intentioned Inhumans may not be exactly what they seem.
And as the synopsis for Tuesday’s episode says, the Secret Warrior’s first mission “will leave no member unscathed,” forcing Coulson and his agents to “question everyone they trust.”
So while Daisy and the Inhumans skydive out of the Quinjet, we suggest that fans buckle up for this ride.
