Two new sneak peeks from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 9 show the agents planning…and no one is laughing.
Director Coulson and his team are pulling out all the stops on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 9, but there may be a few curve balls coming up fast. The episode, titled “Ye Who Enter Here,” is the second-to-last installment before next week’s winter finale; to mark the occasion, the crew is going extra-terrestrial.
Well… sort of.
The first clip from “Ye Who Enter Here” lays out Coulson’s plan to access the mysterious city which long haunted him through the alien writing. Oh, and the Director also has an idea of what to do when he gets there.
In addition to serving as a handy recap for anyone who hasn’t been up-to-date on the show (silly buggers!), the clip makes it clear that Coulson has no half-measures in mind:
He intends to blow the mysterious city to outer space.
You know, in a manner of speaking.
But the second clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 9 indicates that “all goes as planned” is probably not a part of the agenda.
We can’t remember if we’ve met this particular edition of the Agent Koenigs before (it’s tough to keep track) but it’s nice to see Patton Oswalt return amidst all the drama. Not only has Raina returned — smug as ever — but there’s another Agent May on the loose!
Presumably, this woman is the unfortunate Agent 33, who was brainwashed by Hydra and then electrocuted while wearing May’s face. (It’s a long story.) Is 33 doomed to remain an agent of evil? And what role will the actual May play in this game?
The official synopsis for “Ye Who Enter Here” gives us a few, stomach-churning ideas on that score.
According to ABC, “S.H.I.E.L.D. discovers the ancient city before Hydra, but uncovering the secrets may require one of Coulson’s team to make the ultimate sacrifice. Meanwhile, May and Skye race to get to Raina before Whitehall takes her.”
