Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 8 airs tonight on ABC! Here’s everything you need to know about “The Things We Bury.”
All bets will be off between Coulson and Hydra when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 8 airs tonight. The episode, ominously titled “The Things We Bury,” will also feature a long-awaited confrontation between two not-so-happy brothers.
“Coulson and team find themselves in an epic face-off against Hydra to uncover an ancient secret,” ABC says, “While Ward kidnaps his brother, Senator Christian Ward, for a violent trip down memory lane.”
Ward effected his complete escape on last week’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., when he slaughtered a Hydra team and left Mr. Bakshi as a “present” for Coulson. Coulson himself was a little busy trying to crack the alien writing and Project T.A.H.I.T.I. After a lot of violence, Coulson found peace when he discovered another patient’s 3D-rendering of the writing, and realized what it truly was: A city.
The preview for “The Things We Bury” picks up on Coulson’s new sense of totally-not-crazy-anymore urgency regarding this mysterious city… and portends ominous consequences.
As indicated by the preview, the Obelisk will likely play a significant role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 8. That mysterious object/device/blobbything is hinted at in one clip from the episode featuring the razor-sharp Agent Peggy Carter. (The other clip features Coulson being hilarious.)
Peggy and Werner Reinhardt (playing the role of Daniel Whitehall in the current time) feature heavily in the stills for “The Things We Bury,” as do the renegade Ward and his senator brother.
