Ward is on the loose and the team is pushed to their limits in the preview, clips, and stills from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 7.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 7 promises to answer more than one question plaguing Coulson’s team – but answers may be more costly than they anticipated.

The episode, titled “The Writing on the Wall,” will focus on Coulson’s desperation to uncover the meaning of the alien writing. At the same time, the former agent Grant Ward is on the lam, driven by an unknown goal.

The preview for “The Writing on the Wall” focuses on the Ward situation, and offers a terrifying hint at what he intends to accomplish.

And also, apparently Coulson wants to be tortured. That’s… super encouraging.

The first sneak peek from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 7 offers a bit of context on why the Director is so desperate to get to the bottom of his little carving habit.

A second sneak peek, released on TVGuide, gives us a look at what’s up with Ward through Agent Triplett’s lovely eyes. Trip is understandably eager to end Ward’s devious days for once and for all, but Director Coulson has another plan in the works.

Still photos from “The Writing on the Wall” don’t give us much more information on Ward, but they do focus on tension at the Playground, and that weird tattoo guy from last week’s stinger.

Also, that picture totally makes it look like Fitz is sitting in Mack’s lap.

“The team discovers murder victims with the alien glyphs on them that Coulson’s been etching,” the episode synopsis explains, adding, “All of Coulson’s secrets and lies come to a head.”

Well, this should be fun.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 7, “The Writing on the Wall,” will air on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
