Politics and personal demons collude to tear apart Coulson’s freshly-reunited team in clips from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 6.
Last week’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. concluded with a desperately-needed win for Director Coulson and his team – but don’t expect the shine to stick around for very long.
Sneak peeks from tomorrow night’s episode, titled “A Fractured House,” suggest that S.H.I.E.L.D.’s brief advantage will be seriously compromised in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 6, even as members of the team struggle to work together as they once did.
The first clip can be found at E! Online, and portrays a devastating attack by Hydra – posing nefariously as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. The attack is made all the more deadly by flying spinny things, which turn the victims immediately into dust.
It looks like Hydra has figured out how to weaponize that Obelisk.
The second sneak peek, released last week, focuses on the highly-anticipated reunion between Fitz and Simmons. Warning: This one hurts, guys.
We’re not crying, you’re crying.
Unfortunately, it looks like the frisson between the (former?) best friends has only grown since their hesitant reunion. The engineer and biochemist are painfully out of sync, their communication hindered by hurts, misunderstandings, and smarting wounds.
Of course, we’re just as desperate as Fitz to learn why Simmons really left him. The question remains, though; will the answer bring FitzSimmons closer together, or tear them farther apart?
The preview and stills for “A Fractured House” offer no answers to this question, though they do highlight one bright spot – the continued involvement of Her Awesomeness, Bobbi Morse in the team’s activities.
Meanwhile, the synopsis teases darker happenings, and the involvement of Senator Christian Ward (Tim DeKay) in tomorrow night’s events.
“The world turns against S.H.I.E.L.D. when Hydra impersonates them to attack the United Nations, and an unexpected enemy leads the charge to bring about their downfall.”
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 6, “A Fractured House,” airs Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
