The elusive Agent Simmons reappears in the preview, stills, and opening sequence of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 3 – but her whereabouts may surprise you.
Agent Jemma Simmons has been absent so far (in her non-hallucinatory capacity) from the first two episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2. But episode 3, titled “Making Friends and Influencing People,” promises to fill us in on exactly where the bubbly biochemist has been all this time – though we may not be keen on the answers.
The preview for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 3 strongly suggests that our sweet Agent Simmons may be (gulp) working for HYDRA.
The preview also offers glimpses of brainwashing, the return of Donnie Gill (Dylan Minnette) and a sure-to-be-riveting confrontation between Fitz and Ward. But let’s be honest, all we’re really interested in is the fact that Simmons might be HYDRA.
Oh, did we say “might”? Because the opening sequence of “Making Friends and Influencing People” clears up pretty much any doubt we might have had on the matter.
So: Simmons is working for HYDRA. Breathe, everybody. Breathe. Hopefully our favorite biochemist is science-ing for the baddies in pursuit of some noble goal, like helping Fitz, or working undercover for Coulson.
… but we’re still worried.
The other clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 3 features someone we definitely know is HYDRA – even if he claims his true loyalties lie elsewhere.
The still photos for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 3 don’t divulge any more information on Ward’s loyalties, but they do give us further glimpses of Simmons, Mr. Gill, Skye, and Lance Hunter.
The synopsis for “Making Friends and Influencing People” suggests that Gill, introduced in last season’s episode “S.E.E.D.S.,” will have pivotal role to play.
“Coulson and his team race against Hydra to get to Donnie Gill – a dangerous gifted with the ability to freeze objects,” ABC says, “While Simmons is caught in the crossfire.”
That sounds super hopeful and not at all scary.
