A long-awaited reunion comes to fruition in the preview, stills, and a new clip from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 10.
The winter finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 airs this week, and new promotional material makes it clear that the time for half-truths and unfulfilled promises is over.
The preview for the episode, titled “What They Become,” also hints that a few other things (and possibly people) might be “over” as well.
This theme of evolution, of “becoming,” has been percolating through the show since its first season. It seems fitting that Raina, who originated this idea, will be at the heart of this theme’s high point… even if we think that she needs to become “Someone receiving serious psychiatric help.”
A sneak peek from “What They Become” features a few more people who need serious psychiatric help; ironically, Skye, is the lowest on the list.
Aw, Ward. Still fulfilling those promises… whether Skye actually wants him to or not.
The still photos from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 10 focus mostly on this reunion between Skye and her father. And though we are totally on-board with Skye’s indignation and anger, we can’t lie that one of these shots makes up hope for some sort of reconciliation.
Oh, and hey! It’s Bobbi and Hunter! Can we therefore assume that no one else from the plane or temple is dead?
The official synopsis for “What They Become” doesn’t really help us out on that score; honestly, they’re just trying to scare us by now.
“Coulson and Whitehall’s forces meet in an explosive confrontation that dramatically alters everyone’s fates,” ABC says. “Meanwhile, Skye discovers shocking secrets about her past.”
…and probably her real name too, right?
