The aftershocks of Thor: The Dark World may have unexpected effects on a member of the team, hints a promo for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 8.
The events of Thor: The Dark World will bleed onto the small screen next week in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 8. The episode, titled “The Well,” will deal with the Earthly aftermath of Marvel’s most recent blockbuster.
According to the episode preview, a big part of that aftermath will deal with a magical staff that imbues the holder with exceptional strength – and possibly something a little bit less savory.
It’s hard to tell through the quick cuts, but evidently Agent Ward stumbles across something that taps into his Hulk side. (Which is okay if his shirt comes off, really.) Though we’ve gotten a few glimpses of Ward’s emotional side so far, it will be nice to see the stoic and well-built agent be challenged by something that seems to tap into his most obvious strength.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 8 will be directed by Whedon alum and prolific television director Jonathan Frakes. Though there have been no hints that any of the main cast of Thor: The Dark World will be popping onto our small screens for a cameo appearance, we aren’t keen to rule out any exciting possibilities just yet.
The official summary for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 8 says:
In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film ‘Thor: The Dark World’, Coulson and The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces – one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.
If we’ve learned anything from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. so far, it’s that otherworldly relics are definitely not the kind of thing you want to be getting your mitts all over. “The Well” seems like no exception to this wise and frequently shattered rule.
