A long-hidden character will come into the light, along with dangerous truths, when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 19 airs on Tuesday night. The episode, titled “The Only Light in the Darkness,” will reveal Agent Coulson’s often-teased love interest, as well as apparently bringing the traitorous Agent Ward’s story to a head.
The preview for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 19 focuses on the collision of love and truth in both Coulson’s and Ward’s story lines.
A new sneak peek from “The Only Light in the Darkness” offers a hint at the obstacles which the team – and Ward – will face in the upcoming episode.
It looks like Skye is in for a bitter dose of the truth in next week’s episode. Whether Ward’s honesty will be inspired by a S.H.I.E.L.D. truth-detector, or other, more personal motives, we have to imagine that Skye will not be her usual pithy self once the facts come to light.
The episode preview also offered a brief glimpse of Amy Acker as Audrey, Coulson’s “true love” who has been known since The Avengers as “The Cellist.”
The still photos from “The Only Light in the Darkness” give us a closer look at Audrey and the danger she faces next week. Also featured are Patton Oswalt, who returns as Agent Koenig, and Patrick Brennan as Marcus Daniels.
The official synopsis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 19 says that “Coulson’s past love is in jeopardy.”
With their world turned upside down, Coulson races to save the life of his one true love as the mystery of “The Cellist,” which began in Marvel’s The Avengers, is finally revealed.
Between Hydra, hidden traitors, lost love, and devastating truths, it definitely looks like “The Only Light in the Darkness” will shine brightly come Tuesday night.
