Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 19 airs tonight on ABC. Here’s everything you need to know about the long-awaited character debuting in “The Only Light in the Darkness.”

Love will light the way – or at least we hope it will – when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 19 airs tonight on ABC. The episode, titled “The Only Light in the Darkness,” will feature Whedon-alum Amy Acker as Audrey, who has been known in the Marvel Universe as “The Cellist” since her existence was first suggested in The Avengers.

The official synopsis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 19 suggests that Audrey will find herself in danger at the hands of a dangerous super-powered criminal.

With their world turned upside down, Coulson races to save the life of his one true love as the mystery of “The Cellist,” which began in Marvel’s The Avengers, is finally revealed.

On last week’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson and his team chased a cryptic message from the presumed-but-totally-not-dead Director Fury to seek safety in a top-secret bunker. Meanwhile, Ward and Garrett went into full-on bad guy mode and raided the Fridge, freeing criminals and stealing powerful weapons. Then Ward made his way back to the team, in order to tickle the password to the Hard Drive of Secrets out of Skye.

The preview for “The Only Light in the Darkness” makes it clear that tonight’s episode will capitalize on that menacing threat, along with introducing the Cellist.

Will the truth about Ward be revealed, or is this a fakeout? It’s hard to say, though the still photos from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 19 certainly make it seem as though the pressure will be on for liars and truth-tellers alike.

In darkness or light, one thing is clear – our agents’ secrets will not remain hidden for long.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 19, “The Only Light in the Darkness,” airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
