Two new sneak peeks from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 17 make it clear that allegiances are shifting in the wake of recent events.
When Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 17 airs tomorrow night, Agent Coulson and his team will not yet be fully aware of how deeply their lives have changed in the wake of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But new sneak peeks from the episode, titled “Turn, Turn, Turn,” make it clear that the they won’t be in the dark for long.
The distrust and discord that marked the most recent Marvel film rears its ugly head in the first clip, which picks up where last week’s episode left off.
Quite significantly, this clip reveals that Agent May has, in fact, been reporting on Coulson to Nick Fury. (Assuming May is being honest, that is, but we can’t go down that rabbit hole just yet!) But this news doesn’t seem to calm Coulson, Skye, or Fitz – especially as the latter may have his own secrets to keep.
The next sneak peek from “Turn, Turn, Turn” looks in on Agent Garrett, as he becomes aware of the danger lurking behind formerly friendly faces.
In the clip, Garrett’s peaceful evening about a fighter jet is interrupted when two more jets materialize behind him. His attempts to contact S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ are unsuccessful, and when the planes – emblazoned with S.H.I.E.L.D. logos – begin to fire on him, Garret realizes that something is seriously wrong.
The official synopsis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 17 implies that things are not about to start looking up for the “trapped and hunted” team.
Coulson and his team find themselves without anyone they can trust, only to discover that they are trapped with a traitor in their midst.
