Agent Coulson’s team learn that no one can be trusted in the preview and stills for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 17.
Rock-solid loyalties will be tested and betrayed when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 17 airs next week on ABC. The episode, titled “Turn, Turn, Turn,” will blur the lines between friend and foe as Coulson and his agents find themselves on the wrong side S.H.I.E.L.D.’s darker agendas.
The preview for “Turn, Turn, Turn,” makes it entirely clear just how high the stakes are for Team Coulson.
The preview makes it clear that the team is already fracturing. Coulson remains deeply suspicious of Agent May, who was recently discovered to have been reporting to an unknown superior. Meanwhile, Simmons is stuck in the Hub with Victoria Hand (Saffron Burrows), who appears to be leader in the opposing faction – but at least she has the dashing Agent Trip with her.
Agent Garrett (Bill Paxton) emphasizes the danger of a schism within the organization – “This is a battle for S.H.I.E.L.D.’s soul,” he says. “And we’re on the front lines.”
So, you know, no pressure.

While the still photos lead us to believe that Team Coulson will be able to reunite, we have to wonder if the damage caused by the fractures within S.H.I.E.L.D. will be too deep to repair easily.
The official synopsis for “Turn, Turn, Turn,” certainly makes it seem like the danger will not be easily resolved.
Coulson and his team find themselves without anyone they can trust, only to discover that they are trapped with a traitor in their midst.
