Marvel will finally return to the small screen next Tuesday night, when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 16 airs on ABC. The episode, titled “Beginning of the End,” will ramp up the hunt for J. August Richards’ character. Now a cybernetically enhanced killer, the man once known as Mike Peterson has transformed into the dark figure of Deathlok.
The preview for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 16 suggests that Deathlok will not be the only enemy facing Team Coulson next week.
Is the promo referring to recent revelations about Melinda May? Or could there be a real traitor in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s midst?
A sneak peek released from “End of the Beginning” makes it seem like everyone is on the same page… but are they really?
It’s nice to see the return of the Golden Retrievers, as well as Bill Paxton as Agent John Garrett. And Paxton isn’t the only guest star set to appear in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 16. Saffron Burrows will appear as Agent Victoria Hand, Maximiliano Hernandez will return as Agent Jasper Sitwell, and Titus Welliver will show up as Agent Felix Blake.

Agent Simmons, alas, is nowhere to be found. We suspect she may be enjoying the charms of Garrett’s partner, Agent Triplett (BJ Britt.)
But for better or worse, the official synopsis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 16 makes no mention of any romantic developments.
Agents Garrett and Triplett are back to help Coulson’s team track down S.H.I.E.L.D.’S nefarious enemy – the Clairvoyant. But will Deathlok destroy them all to protect his master’s identity?
