Jaimie Alexander is a sight for sore eyes in the first shot of Lady Sif’s appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 15.
Marvel fans from all nine realms were thrilled to hear that actress Jaimie Alexander will reprise her role as the Asgardian goddess of war among the very mortal members of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But though the episode featuring Lady Sif is still some time away, TV Guide has come up with the first official image of Sif’s most recent adventures in the realm of men.
We’re already giddy just seeing Lady Sif decked out in her grand Asgardian gear with dear Lola in the background, but the showrunners hint that there will be more excitement to come in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 15. In the episode, titled “Yes Men,” Lady Sif arrives “on a hunting mission,” says Jed Whedon. Sif will be sent to Earth by All-father Odin “to find her arch-enemy Lorelei and bring her back to Asgard.”
The story, says Whedon, “throws our agents for a loop when they find themselves in a fight right alongside this powerful woman from Thor’s world.”
Alexander appeared in the role of Sif in Thor and the recent sequel, Thor: The Dark World. The character’s strength, loyalty, and wry sense of humor have earned the many fans for both character and actress – including the cast and crew of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Says showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen, “Jaimie walked onto the set in full Lady Sif regalia just as she looks in the movies… and she towered over everyone.” Seeing the now-iconic character against the backdrop of standard S.H.I.E.L.D. operations “was so striking and impressive,” Tancharoen said. “All we could do was stare. It was very cool!”
And though Jaimie Alexander is only set to appear in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 15, Sif’s story line may begin a bit earlier. Elaine Satine is set to appear as Sif’s nemesis Lorelei in the episode preceding “Yes Men.” The episode, titled “Tahiti,” will also feature the first appearance of Bill Paxton in the role of Agent John Garrett.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return with new episodes on Tuesday, March 4.
