The episode title and synopsis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 12 have been released, hinting that mysteries – and mysterious figures – from the past will return.
Though the show is currently on the second week of its midwinter hiatus, the official synopsis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 12 has been released. The episode, entitled “Seeds,” will take Agent Coulson’s team to the training ground for budding agents, and will also feature the return of a nefarious character who appeared earlier in the season.
The official synopsis for “Seeds” says:
Coulson and May uncover startling information about Skye’s past, while the team is swept into a storm at S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy.
Actor David Conrad is among the guest stars listed in the summary, indicating that the ambitious billionaire scientist Ian Quinn (nope, not Tony Stark) will return in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 12. Quinn first appeared in “The Asset,” where his desire to weaponize the element of gravitonium had disastrous consequences. Quinn also tried unsuccessfully to recruit Skye to his side in that episode, and may have a bone to pick with her should the two meet again.
Also appearing in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 12 is Dylan Minnette as the established Marvel character Donnie Gill. A scarred villain who goes by the name “Blizzard,” Donnie Gill plays into Iron Man’s story in the Marvel comics universe. It will be interesting to see how the character – minor but potent, as his cryogenic suit allows him to freeze anything in his path – will be portrayed in the world of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return from its winter hiatus on Jan. 7 with an as-yet-untitled episode. Though no synopsis has been released, the episode promo indicates that episode 11 will feature the rescue of Agent Coulson from the dastardly hands of Centipede. At the same time, the mystery of Coulson’s revival after his murder by Loki is promised to be revealed.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 12 “Seeds,” will air on Jan. 14 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
