Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 4×19 airs tomorrow night, and we have a few hints for the heart-pounding twists of “All the Madame’s Men.”

Bakshi’s back!

The eternally slick Sunil Bakshi returns to the world of the Framework in “All the Madame’s Men”, and he hasn’t changed a bit. (Well, aside from the fact that he hasn’t been splinter-bombed to pieces in this reality.) As slimy and ambitious as ever, Bakshi is now the official face of Hydra’s state news, which means that he plays a critical role in Hydra’s dominant narrative.

And those who control the news, control the nation — a lesson that Daisy, Simmons, and the resistance will learn to brutal and instructive effect.

Aida’s out of commission

A violent attack (quote-on-quote) leaves poor, innocent Aida out of commission within the Framework in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 4×19, leaving Fitz and his father to their own nefarious devices. But, slippery as the finest Terminators before her, Aida knows how to turn almost any situation to her advantage. The mien of weakness is a tool like anything else; in this case, a lever.

And the only person Aida needs to move is Fitz.

A new-old element arrives

Bakshi isn’t the only familiar element that pops up in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 4×19. Aida’s manipulations gradually reveal her ultimate end-game, the mechanics of which are an impressive display of storytelling economy.

What Aida wants is complicated, but that’s nothing compared to the battle lines drawn by her plans. The hammer of long-awaited confrontations looms above “All the Madame’s Men,” and by the time the episode ends, we’re pretty sure where it’s going to fall. The question is, who gets out… and who gets crushed?

Trip is still delightful

This has nothing to do with the story of “All the Madame’s Men,” but it’s still worth noting. Can we keep him, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Can we? Please?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 4×19, “All the Madame’s Men,” airs Tuesday, April 25 at 10:00 p.m. on ABC.
