Peggy Carter is taking two of her cutest sidekicks along for her trip to California in Agent Carter season 2.

Reportedly, both James D’Arcy (Edwin Jarvis) and Enver Gjokaj (Agent Daniel Sousa) will be reprising their popular roles in the ABC series. D’Arcy’s scheduled appearance at San Diego Comic-Con had invited rumors regarding his return, but Gjokaj’s participation in Agent Carter season 2 is definitely new information.

This news — along with rumors that Lyndsy Fonesca, Chad Michael Murray, and Bridget Regan are also finalizing deals for the second season — suggest that Agent Carter season 2 may be more familiar than initially anticipated. The 10-episode second season of Hayley Atwell’s retro espionage dramedy will be set in California, taking Peggy away from the New York cradle of the Scientific Strategic Reserve.

“Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II,” the ABC synopsis announces, “Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet.”

And it seems that Peggy may find life in California to her liking — but of course, life can never be all roses for Agent Carter.

“Even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love,” ABC says, “she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.”

As dire as the synopsis sounds, it’s heartening to know that Peggy will have the loyal backing of Jarvis and Sousa amidst the deadly glamor. With Angie Martinelli’s dedicated friendship, and the snark of Jack Thompson and Red Room nemesis Dottie to keep Peggy on her toes, it sounds like Agent Carter season 2 will be an excellent test of Peggy’s undaunted badassery.

This quality, as well as further information about Agent Carter season 2, will certainly be on display next Friday at San Diego Comic-Con. The cast and crew of Marvel’s first female-headlined property will participate in a panel with Jeph Loeb and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to bring fans the latest maddening hints on what awaits Peggy Carter on Agent Carter season 2.

Agent Carter season 2 will air in January 2016.
